• Candid photo at the farm

Welcome!

ArkTalesBooks is a fun new book series for the young and young at heart. The books feature photos of live animals acting out biblical stories. Many props and much patience needed to obtain the unique pictures and some photo editing was required. Some animals tend to be a bit shy when it comes to having their photo taken. Others, like chickens, strike odd poses. For instance, the two headed chicken trick. We love all the silly animals and we hope you do, too.

Our Process

We start with an idea. Study the Bible story. Do a story board with photo ideas. Then we bring the actors on to the stage or the photographer to the zoo. For the “Queen Esther” banquet scene, there was no better way to transport a king than in a chariot! Next, many photos are taken. Sometimes the actors are coached and sometimes candid photos are taken and used. We use props and costumes whenever possible. The book is inserted into the layout along with the touched up photos. Edit, edits, and more editing after reviews from friends and family. Finally, it is off to the printer!

King Jehoshaphat

Our first book now available. The story of King Jehoshaphat is told in 2nd Chronicles, Chapters 17-20. It is about trusting God in very difficult times. Jehoshaphat was considered a good king. He earns his place in history because he followed God’s teachings and not what was acceptable practices by the people. It is a great teaching for us in today’s ever changing world. Who can you trust? God!
